BOS Express

No Appointment Needed | Walk-Ins Welcome
300 Mount Auburn St. | Cambridge | Suite 505

What is BOS Express?

BOS Express was created by Boston Orthopaedic & Spine as an alternative to the emergency room visits for acute orthopedic injuries.

What are Acute Orthopedic Injuries?

Common acute orthopedic injuries or conditions may include dislocations, fractures, impingements (when a bone or tendon rubs against each other causing pain), sprains, and strains.

When do patients visit BOS Express?

BOS Express serves patients who have sustained an acute injury within the past seven days or have developed acute onset pain and feel like they need urgent or emergent attention from an orthopedic specialist.

When should patients NOT use BOS Express?

BOS Express is not for patients who already have future appointments; require a Visco injection; are within their 90 day post-op period; or are seeking a second opinion.

What age patients can be seen?

Patients must be ages 14 and up.

When should patients go to the ER?

While BOS Express is setup to offer diagnostic testing onsite to expedite the treatment process, we do not have the necessary setup for life threatening emergency care. For more serious orthopedic ailments—such as head trauma, deep lacerations, heavy bleeding, visible bones, open fractures and more—head to your nearest emergency room immediately or dial 911.

Attention: Starting January 1, 2024, Boston Orthopaedic & Spine will no longer stock viscosupplementation medication (such as Euflexxa, Orthovisc, etc). In the past, we had these medications in stock to accommodate insurances that did not require prior authorizations. Going forward, our physicians are happy to write prescriptions in which patients can send to local pharmacies to fill and bring to the office for our physicians to inject. Thank you!
