Physician Bio
Dr. Luz is board-certified in sports medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation and specializes in non-surgical, holistic approaches to musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Luz utilizes advanced techniques like ultrasound-guided interventional and non-operative methods to treat and prevent injury, improve performance and enhance overall health. Dr. Luz also provides comprehensive care for athletes of all levels, addressing a wide range of sports injuries.
After completing medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Luz completed residency training through the Harvard Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation program. She completed her Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School program and joined the Department of Orthopedics at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center where she practiced through 2024.
During training, Dr. Luz developed a strong commitment to teaching and academics. Fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound and RMSK certified, Dr. Luz is an instructor at several medical schools in this technique; she is currently Clinical Instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine through both Dept of Orthopedics and Dept of Physiatry and at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Dept of Family Medicine.
Dr. Luz has authored numerous physiatry and sports medicine articles in leading journals, and she lectures both locally and nationally. In addition to her passion for serving the sports medicine community with her expertise, she has become an active advocate and dedicated provider for the Tactical Athlete population, including Law Enforcement, Fire Service, and EMS. She has lectured locally in Boston and across the state, both at the academy and active duty level. She is passionate about educating her patients and the community at large about wellness and orthopedic health for all.
Recent distinctions and awards include her recognition as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly for 2024 and 2025, and also a Boston Magazine Top Doctor for 2024 and 2025.
